ABOUT

ME!

Michela Marie Semenza was born in Albany, New York, where she began her formal dance and ballet training at Myers Ballet School/Northeast Ballet Company, under the direction of Darlene Myers. At Northeast Ballet Company, Michela had the opportunity to perform many lead roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy, Arabian Coffee, Snow Queen in The Nutcracker as well as various roles in original works for the company.  Michela started her college career at Hudson Valley Community College, where she received an Associate’s degree in science, majoring in Fine Arts.  Michela has spent many of her summer’s training with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet where she had many staff and leadership opportunities. In the summer of 2018, Michela trained and performed extensively in a semi-professional touring company across eastern Europe, with the Butler Ballet ensemble.

 

Michela continued her education at the prestigious collegiate ballet program with Butler University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Pedagogy in May of 2020.  During Michela’s time at Butler, she received extensive training in a range of styles. Michela has had the pleasure to perform in various roles in these full-length ballets including The Nutcracker, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and additional original works. In addition to her classical experience, Michela is equally proficient in Jazz, where she studied the Siminson technique, along with Modern, Cunningham, graham technique. Michela also has studied improvisation and has choreographed in the student choreography showcase at Butler University in the fall of 2019. When Michela is not dancing, you will catch her honing her photography skills that have earned her many awards.
